Weekly Digest!

This week we experienced a three day work week this was due to a late easter coinciding with ANZAC day. Whilst a lot of people took the three days off to make the most of this rare occurrence we have been working tirelessly to ensure the best of the best make it into our shortened weekly digest. NVETR – Request for Research Proposals

The National Vocational Education and Training Research Program (NVETR) are seeking high quality researchers to submit their research proposals. The NVETR funding round is seeking proposals under three specific topic areas:

  1. Quality, flexibility and responsiveness within the training system.
  2. The role of employers and industry in on-the-job skills formation and structured training arrangements.
  3. Impact of changing economic conditions on individuals and the role of training.

There is up to $100,000 funding available per project. The successful applicants will be selected through a competitive process. For more information and instructions on applying see the above link.

Delivery of TAELLN411 as a Stand-Alone Unit

The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) have released an update on their stand on delivering TAELLN411 as a stand-alone unit this week. The TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills can only be delivered as a stand-alone unit when an RTO has applied for an extension to scope. The reasoning behind this decision can be found on their website by following the above link.

Standards Where Non-Compliances Have Occurred – ASQA
ASQA has published a video that outlines the most common non-compliances that have been identified during their audits of training organisations and providers. This is a great resource for anyone who is working in the compliance section of an RTO to watch to ensure that your RTO is not committing any of these non-compliances.
